Estefania IS Dedicated to her work in public media.
For the past eight years, she has been able to fulfill her dream of contributing her skills to the world of public media. In her position as Assistant Director of Multiplatform Programming at PBS, Estefanía plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's mission to bridge linear programming and digital projects, in an effort to meet diverse audiences where they are.
With a primary focus on the intersection of traditional and digital media, Estefanía works to oversee day-to-day editorial and audience development strategy with a focus on content for the PBS Flagship and PBS Food YouTube channels, social video content, and other digital formats. She manages digital-first projects and non-linear extensions to GA programs and effectively works with member stations and production partners nationwide to expand the reach and impact of PBS' offerings.
With an unwavering dedication to excellence and a keen understanding of the evolving media landscape, Estefanía contributes to PBS' mission of serving the American public with programming of the highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain and express a diversity of perspectives.
Before joining PBS, Estefanía was the Digital Media Associate at Austin PBS, serving as a direct liason between the station and the Central Texas community. By approaching digital content through a data-driven lens and hands-on approach, she established a strong foundation for Austin PBS' digital platforms – navigating station branding transitions, a huge moving campaign and grand opening, and beyond – and helped grow their audiences to lead the station be one of the top digital players in public television.
Previously, she worked with the KUT 90.5FM / KUTX 98.9FM membership team as a student assistant and intern in the newsroom. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2016 with a Bachelor of Journalism with a certificate in Latino Media Studies and a B.A. in French. In college, she was a Life & Arts staff writer and page designer for The Daily Texan, the University of Texas’ leading student publication. She also worked as a regional correspondent for The Banner covering the Rocky Mountain/Yellowstone region and interned for online magazines Austin Vida and Red River Noise for more than three years. She served as the Technology Chair of the University of Texas Hispanic Journalists from 2013-2014. In her spare time, she enjoys visting museums, listening to music, and scrolling endlessly through TikTok.
