Running in the Rain: Austin Cap10K

This year the Capitol 10,000 hosted by the Austin American-Statesman had over 15,000 registered runners. It is estimated that over 25,000 people were downtown to participate and spectate the event.

Participants, volunteers, and spectators encountered cold and rainy weather throughout the entire marathon.

There were hundreds of volunteers including father and son, Joe Solis and Jeremy Solis who volunteered through the Future Farmers of American from Akins High School in South Austin. Their duties included helping manage recyclables and compost.
